o BIG-IP as a default deny device
o BIG-IP's part in a security architecture
o Optional software modules available (ASM and MSM)
* Application Delivery
o BIG-IP Application features
o Latency's effect on applications
o Overcoming WAN impacts on applications
o Optional software module available (Web Accelerator)
By the end of this course, the student will be able to design and architect BIG-IP LTM systems into network configurations that take into account applications being delivered to clients in a secure, fast and reliable way.
Prerequisites
Prior to attending the Architecting BIG-IP in an Application Delivery Network course the student must have attended the BIG-IP LTM Essentials and Advanced Topics courses. The student can also benefit from several months experience configuring and designing with the BIG-IP LTM product before attending this course.
Students should also understand:
* TCP/IP Addressing and Routing including:
o The Address Resolution Protocol
o Direct and Indirect Routing
o TCP Handshakes
* Common elements of and differences between WAN and LAN components.
* Network Application design concepts.
Audience
This course is intended for experienced users of the BIG-IP LTM system including system and network administrators and architects responsible for network design.
